proVconnect agents are today available for Windows and Linux Operating Systems. Our teams are working on increasing the scope of agents to include Android and iOS.
this chapter covers the prerequsites on the client side for being able to be managed and monitored by proVconnect server.
Windows Platform
Host Operating Systems : Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, Windows Iot, Windows 11, Windows Embedded 8 Standard & Industry / Windows Embedded 7 Standard & POS ready / Windows Thin PC
.NET Framework 2.0 SP1 minimum (full version) - This client is exclusively available for windows XP devices and will not be maintained after version 2.17
- .NET Framework 4.6 - This client has to be used for devices equiped with Windows 7 operating systems and above.

When installing proVconnect Agent on an Embedded OS, ensure the device is not protected by a Write Filter. If so, disable the Write Filter before installing. |
Linux Platform
- Host Operating Systems : Ubuntu 18.04 and above. Any Linux distribution based on .deb package format
- .Net Core Runtime version 3.1
Mac OS Platform
- Host Operating Systems: Mac OS 10.13 "High Sierra" and above
- Not compatible on Mac with ARM processors (aka M1)
- .NET Core Runtime version 3.1 (installation not required)

The installer size for proVconnect Agent is 5MB. For proper installation, ensure there is at least 40MB free space available on the client system. After installation, the total footprint is 20MB. |

There is not ingoing ports required ! The agent communicates through the https protocol and therefore the only prerequisites is to have the port 443 open for outgoing connections on your devices. The port 443 is by defaut but is customizable. |
