Create a Agent Update Task

Prerequisites

Before starting this guide, make sure that your server is updated and that you have the latest Device Agent Installer available in your ProVConnect Server library. If not, please contact the ProVConnect support team to get one.

1st step : Find the Agent Update command in the Commands List

  • Click on the button select file and go to the next step



2nd step : Find the Agent Update command in the Commands List

  • Click on the provconnect Agent Version that is the newest one and click on Select file



3rd step : Add the Agent Update command to the commands queue

  • Click on Add To Queue, and click on the Commands Queue tab on the vertical menu

Add an inventory command to your update task

Sometimes, a newer agent version must perform an inventory in order to be compatible with the newest server features. We then recommand to add an inventory command at the end of your update task

For write filter protected devices

If the device has a write filter enabled, The task must be launch under maintenance mode. Please search how to set a device under maintenance on the manual if you are not familiar with it.


Final step : Save the Agent Update task in your library

  • Fill up the form and click on Save as

  • That's all, the update task is now saved on your server !
